Join us for a tour of PATH’s Valley Vista permanent supportive housing site in a former Residence Inn Hotel in Mission Valley. The tour will be guided by our July meeting speaker Ashley Champa who is the Activities Coordinator there. We hope to start volunteering there or supporting the site in some capacity on a regular basis.
PATH’s (People Assisting the Homeless) mission is to end homelessness for individuals, families, and communities. PATH envisions a world where every person has a home. Our values include creative collaborations, strategic leadership, empowerment for all, and passionate commitment.
Permanent supportive housing is community-based housing with indefinite leasing and rental assistance paired with supportive services to help people with disabilities and other sub-populations that are experiencing homelessness achieve housing stability, live independently, and improve their overall quality of life. Clients are referred/matched through the Coordinated Entry System (CES). Units are subsidized with a Project-Based Voucher, client rent amount is income based (approx. 30%) with a subsidy provided by the local housing authority.
